Road Trip Summer Recital 2018

Are all dancers required to participate in the recital? – No, the recital is not mandatory. However, dance is a performing art and performing in the recital will help your child grow as a dancer and will build lasting confidence.

Mandatory Photo Sessions at Fancy Feet

Day/Time will be listed April 1st for each Class Friday, May 18th Saturday, May 19th Sunday, May 20th

Location of Dress Rehearsal Fancy Feet Dance Academy 

Rehearsal will be during your child’s regular scheduled class & time the week of June 18th through June 23rd

Arrive in costume/tights/hair/ and ready for your dancer to rehearse

Recital Dates

  • Friday, June 29th 2018
    • SHOW A - 5:30pm-7pm
  • Saturday, June 30th 2018
    • SHOW B - 9:30am-11am
    • SHOW C - 12:30pm-2pm
    • SHOW D - 3:30pm-5pm

Each class performs only on one day and one show time. Showtimes will be posted on April 1st, 2018.

What to expect at recital

The recital is about 90 minutes. Dancers must arrive 30 minutes prior to their show time. Only parent’s volunteers are allowed backstage. If you are not a volunteer, you must drop your children off and go to the front lobby with your tickets. Dancers are required to stay for the entire recital. There will be a finale with all the dancers onstage for a final bow. Parents will pick their children up from the stage. Fancy Feet Staff will excuse each class 1 at a time from the stage.

How to sign your child up for the recital

Turn in the costume form (link) to the recital box in studio lobby March 1st (Deadline #1) (Deadline #2) March 2nd through March 15th add $15 extra fee to package cost

  • Tickets are only sold online May 1st-June 20th. Any remaining tickets will be sold the day of the show at the door.
  • Dancers do not need a ticket, but parents, family, or anyone wanting to see the show require a ticket

Want to be backstage with your child for the recital?

Parent volunteers do not need to purchase a ticket to the recital. You can volunteer to sit with your child’s class. You must be available for both the dress rehearsal and the recital. If someone has already volunteered for your child’s class but you would still like to be backstage, you can be a floater or bathroom taker. We can always use extra help backstage. Backstage Volunteers can only be female. If you are male and would like to volunteer at the recital, you can help in the front of the house ushering.

The Father Daughter Dance is a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with your daughter that will create lifelong, special memories! Daddy's and Daughters will perform a choreographed routine in the June 2018 "Road Trip" Performance.

Recital FAQ

  1. Are all dancers required to participate in the recital?
    No, the recital is not mandatory. However, dance is a performing art and performing in the recital will help your child grow as a dancer and will build lasting confidence. All dancers will learn routine during class time
  2. Will my child be in all day/show times?
    No, each class is assigned a specific show time and day. The show list will be posted in the studio & emailed in our newsletter on April 1st, 2018.
  3. Will I automatically be signed up for the recital?
    No, to sign up for the recital, you must turn in the costume agreement form by 3/1/18 or 3/15/18. There will be a box in the lobby where you can turn your completed form in. The card on file will then be charged for the costume(s).
  4. When is deadline to sign-up for the recital?
    March 1st Deadline #1 or March 2nd through March 15th #2 Deadline (which will include a $15 extra fee)
  5. Can I put siblings on the same costume agreement form?
    No, each dancer must have their own costume agreement form.
  6. Are siblings or students with more than 1 class guaranteed to be in the same show?
    No, we try our best to accommodate families with more than one child and students who take more than 1 class, but we cannot guarantee they will be in the same show.
  7. What if my child changes classes after I have turned in the costume agreement form?
    You must fill out a new costume agreement form and turn it into the box at the front desk by deadline.
  8. Are costume refundable?
    No, all costume orders are non-refundable.
  9. What if I have more than 1 child?
    Siblings are not guaranteed to be in the same show. We try our best to put them in the same show, but it is not guaranteed. You may be in multiple shows if you have more than 1 dance as well.
  10. Can I buy tickets for the recital at the studio?
    No, all ticket purchases must be made online at www.tututix.com/fancyfeetdance between May 1st-June 20th. If you do not get tickets online during that time, you will have to purchase them at the box office the day of the show. But, we cannot guarantee that the shows will not sell out.
  11. Do parents get free tickets to the recital?
    No, anyone that is planning on seeing the show must purchase a ticket from www.tututix.com/fancyfeetdance . To rent out a professional venue, we must charge for tickets. Tickets range from $15/$20/$25.
  12. Is there a maximum amount of tickets I can purchase?
    No, you can purchase as many tickets as you would like for family and friends.
  13. Do dancers participating in the recital need a ticket?
  14. Do dancers have to stay backstage for the whole show?
    Yes, all dancers are required to stay backstage during the entire show.
  15. Can I wait backstage with my child during the show?
    You can only wait backstage with your child if your sign-up as a parent volunteer. Parent volunteer signups will be posted in the studio lobby on April 1st.
